Who Is Joe?Who is Joe the Personal Trainer? Find out more about your Personal Trainer
When choosing your Personal Trainer you want to know that you will feel at ease with them, trust him or her. After all they are going to be with you every step of the way through your training, helping to motivate you, keeping you focussed on the tasks.
We caught up with Joe Cravagan at Joseph Leah to discuss his life, loves, interests and ambitions, and what he can really offer you.

How long have you been interested and participating in fitness? I have always been passionate about sport and when growing up my ambition was to become a Physio for the sports professionals.

What made you become a Personal Trainer? Through my first job in the leisure industry (at the Midland Hotel) in 1999 I realised that as my interest in fitness grew a gap in the market was emerging in one-to-one personal training. After investing time studying into the subject and gaining the relevant qualifications I decided to establish my own Personal Training company called Joseph Leah, it is these services I am offering to you.

What are your qualifications? Rest assured I have been a fully qualified Personal Trainer since 2000; I have the following credentials:
- Member of The Register of Exercise Professionals – Assistant Instructor Level 3
- Certified in Fitness Training and Personal Training from Premier Training and Development
- Certified in Nutrition, Weight Management, Pre and Post Natal and Circuit Training Level 3 from Central YMCA
- Certified in Training and Development from Intercontinental Hotels Group for Fitness
- Public Liability
- First Aid at Work from St Johns Ambulance

What type of people do you train? I train a variety of people with many different goals, pregnant women, housewives, lawyers, medical advisers, company directors, and physiotherapists; I have even started training the odd celebrity including Phil Middlemiss aka Des Barnes from Coronation Street.
Some clients already have a fitness regime and simply need more motivation and focus whilst others have never worked out before and are over weight, whatever your position I can help you achieve your goals safely and quickly.
You will see results within 6 weeks of your program as long as you stick by it. Life can often get in the way but I'm here to keep you on track as best I can.

What do you do in your spare time? When I am not working I like to take time out with my kids and friends. I generally enjoy staying active, I enjoy playing golf and organising social event's, especially for charities. At the moment I'm busy training to take part in next years London marathon.

What is your favourite meal of the day and what do you have?
Breakfast by far. I am always hungry in the morning and can't function without a good breakfast, it tends to be a bowl of Special K with yoghurt followed by a piece of fruit washed down with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, a good healthy start to the day, I practice what I preach I promise.

What would be your best tip for people wanting to lose weight or get fit? My best tip for people to get fit or loss weight would have to be to eat sensibly and in moderation aiming to consume 5-6 small meals a day (helps stabilise the metabolism) and be as active as possible. I.e. people with sedentary jobs (mainly sitting at the desk all day) use the stairs instead of jumping in the elevator, walk around on lunch breaks.

Where do you instruct people? I can instruct you in various locations depending on what suits. I mainly do my one-to-one training sessions at the 4* fully equipped Midland Essential Leisure (at The Midland Hotel) in Manchester city centre, but I can also visit you at home or even at the office for those workaholics.
